LBIF House Tour

LBI Arts Foundation House Tour Event

A re-imagined presentation of a 55-year tradition celebrating LBI's history & renowned architecture

BACKGROUND: In 2021, the LBIF of Arts and Sciences presented a live/virtual hybrid of their biggest event of year—the Seashore House Tour. For 55 years, this one-day event was held as a physical tour through of some of LBI's most stunning homes. With COVID-19 restrictions, this type of event was not possible, and the LBIF was unsure of how to continue this popular LBI tradition—which is the biggest fundraiser for their 70-year old charitable institution. The Harrington Group, Inc., a proud woman-owned company, agreed to produce elaborate video presentations to showcase five exquisite LBI homes—masterfully blending video, audio, interior and exterior drone footage, and interviews with the architects. The end result is a stunning video collection that highlights each home's architectural concept and function, and how it was designed to suit the needs and personality of each particular homeowner.
THE EVENT: Over the span of five days, the five videos were presented individually—both live in the LBIF gallery while simultaneously being broadcast over Zoom—followed by a Q & A with each architect. Additionally, The Harrington Group created a short promotional hotspot for social media and the web to promote the event, featuring original music a sneak peak at the videos.
THE LBIF: The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences is 501(c)(3) nonprofit cultural facility
that promotes the arts and sciences on LBI and surrounding communities. It was founded in 1948 by Tyler School of Art's founding dean, Boris Blai, with the purpose to "foster individuals and their talents." Through classes, live events, workshops, exhibitions, lectures and more, this year-round facility enlightens, educates, and stimulates the community with broad educational, artistic, and cultural programs for all ages.
